David Crane was born in Philadelphia and raised 10 minutes away in the small, blue-collar town of Mount Holly, New Jersey. After graduating from University of Maryland, David moved to NYC, discovered independent film and became inspired by New York City’s rich theater community. David studied at the William Esper Studio and began doing theater and soon after, booked his first TV gig, HBO‛s Oz. David loved acting, but yearned to take a bigger role in storytelling so he wrote a one-act play “One Rainy Night.” It was produced in NYC and had a visceral effect on the audience. David began to transform a small one act into a feature length script. Life was about to change. David, his fiancee, and their two dogs drove cross-country to move to L.A. David teamed with his childhood friend Quinn Saunders. The two worked relentlessly, polished the script, raised money and called in every favor they had. ”One Rainy Night” was made into the feature film ”Cherry” on a micro budget. It debuted at Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, and went on to win Best Producers at Beverly Hills Film Festival and Best Picture in Charleston. Finally, ”Cherry” beat the odds and was distributed by Warner Brothers. Since “Cherry,” David has worked steadily. A young writer, dissatisfied with his life, returns to his hometown but decides not to tell anyone he’s back, as he goes on a sexually twisted, darkly funny and soulful journey to reinvent himself.
REVIEWS!

"An opaque and offbeat story of a man who repeatedly returns to his hometown with the intention of avoiding anyone he once knew."
"The fragmented and existential atmosphere, reminiscent of a Paul Auster novel, is an interesting reward for sticking with the tale."

Ken Jaworowski, The New York Times

"A series of vignettes that aim to challenge accepted notions of normality." "Considering Reset as an inarguably daring film, it’s also
possible to interpret Floyd’s low-key demeanor as a way to portray this sexual deviant as a bemused Everyman traveling a world
of seedy motels and bars in a land that represents the further decay of Western civilization, both morally and philosophically."
"Arthouse enthusiasts will celebrate the return of a filmmaker who refuses to play it safe."

Bill Edelstein, Variety
